PAPER PARK Workshop
A research project conducted as part of a workshop at ECAL in collaboration with Emile BarretOver the course of one week, second-year Bachelor of Industrial Design students designed and built a labyrinth made entirely out of paper. Each group developed a micro-architecture asserting both an aesthetic and structural approach, inviting visitors to lose themselves in singular worlds. With only three constraints, an entrance, an exit, and 2,500 sheets of paper of various kinds, they experimented with notions of volume, assembly, and rhythm in order to create a varied pathway.
This ambitious construction explores the constraints and possibilities offered by a single, limited resource, paper offcuts from the ECAL Print Centre, while pushing the boundaries of collective work.
