For the Brussels Jewellery Week 2024, we proposed an intangible scenography made of photons (particles of lights) to create an exhibition with a low material production footprint.

We reused the landscape of the previous Jaime Hayon’s exhibition that was initially designed to display furniture.
On top of this base we used light as a main element to refocus the eyes towards the precious smaller scale artworks.
In collaboration with long term partner Chris Pype we experimented with reflection, refraction, and diffraction to highlight the selected jewellery.

Working with limited resources is part of our creative process. Combining existing and rented elements allows us to further explore our ongoing research in eco-conception.

Lighting the pieces so precisely enhances them and creates a different dimension. The shadows scale up details of the artwork to create a second reading.
The mirrors diffract and redirect a new beam of light. They also serve as a tool to reveal details on the backs of the jewels.
